Air forces from the US, Germany, France, and several other nations will join 'Tarang Shakti,' India's largest multilateral air exercise, aimed at showcasing the country's defense capabilities and enhancing interoperability among participating forces, according to a top IAF official on Wednesday.
The first phase of 'Tarang Shakti' is scheduled to take place in Sulur, Tamil Nadu, from August 6-14, with the second phase running from August 29 to September 14 in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
Officials noted that Russia and Israel, despite being defense partners with India, will not be participating in this exercise.
Fifty-one countries were invited to participate in the exercise, with nearly 30 expected to take part, according to officials.
The Indian Air Force will showcase its LCA Tejas, Mirage 2000, and Rafale aircraft during the major exercise, they added.
Air Marshal Singh described it as a "landmark event" in Indian military history, marking the largest international air exercise ever held in India, with invitations extended to 51 countries.
