Authorities in Maharashtra's Thane district have conducted a raid on a warehouse, where they seized 341 liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders valued at Rs 7.86 lakh. The cylinders were being stored and sold illegally, according to police reports from Monday. Investigations revealed that the warehouse owner and two employees were running the operation without the required permits and were refilling non-subsidized cylinders for black market sales, an official from the Shivaji Nagar police station in Ambernath stated. 

On Saturday, a joint operation conducted by district PDS (Public Distribution System) officials and the Shivaji Nagar police resulted in the seizure of a large number of filled and empty gas cylinders from a warehouse in the Anand Nagar industrial area of Ambernath, according to the official. 

Besides the cylinders, a tempo and gas refilling equipment were also seized, the police said. 

An FIR has been filed against the warehouse owner and his two employees under the applicable sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Essential Commodities Act, and the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Regulation of Supply and Distribution) Order, 2000, officials reported.
