Security Breach at Kasara Station
In a significant security operation, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Central Railway has arrested two individuals who unlawfully entered the Motorman's cabin of a stationary local train at Kasara station. This incident highlights the ongoing vigilance of the Central Railway RPF in ensuring the safety and security of the railway network.
Details of the Incident
On July 25, 2024, one of the accused gained unauthorized access to the motorman’s cabin of suburban train number 95410, which was parked on Platform 4 at Kasara station. The other individual recorded the act and subsequently shared the video on social media. The Central Railway RPF, working alongside the Cyber Cell, managed to apprehend the pair in Nashik on August 8, 2024.
Arrests and Charges
During their interrogation, the suspects admitted that their primary intention was to create content for social media. They have been charged under CR No. 1200/24, sections 145(b) and 147. This prompt response from the RPF reinforces Central Railway's strict stance against trespassing and unauthorized access, sending a clear message to potential violators.
Recent Similar Incidents
This case follows several recent incidents involving unauthorized access and tampering with railway operations. Notably, Northern Railway had earlier arrested Gulzar Sheikh for tampering with railway tracks to produce videos. Central Railway emphasizes its commitment to passenger safety and warns against actions that endanger passenger security or disrupt railway services.
Passenger Safety Measures
In response to recent criticisms about overcrowded general compartments, Central Railway has decided to enhance services by adding four general coaches to 84 mail/express trains to accommodate additional passengers. This adjustment will help manage the increased passenger load and improve overall travel experience.
