Torrential Downpours Expected in Mumbai: Weather Department Issues Heavy Rain Alert
Mumbai Braces for Intensified Rainfall
Mumbai: The city of Mumbai has been experiencing continuous rainfall over the past few days, and the Meteorological Department has now issued a warning of even heavier rains in the coming hours. This announcement comes as the rains, which began intensifying since midnight on Tuesday, show no signs of letting up.
Since early Wednesday morning, areas such as Andheri, Powai, and Bandra have been hit particularly hard by the downpour. According to the forecast, this heavy rain is expected to persist throughout the day, not just in Mumbai but also along the Konkan coast and the Western Ghats.
The recent surge in rainfall is attributed to a low-pressure area and a parallel low-pressure belt running along the coast. This weather pattern extends from southern Gujarat to northern Kerala, resulting in heavy rainfall across Mumbai and its surrounding regions.
Today's Rain Forecast:
Heavy to Very Heavy Rainfall:
Thane, Palghar, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Pune, Kolhapur
Heavy Rainfall:
Mumbai, Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Raigad, Satara
